Launched in 2014, Blenheim Art Foundation presents an award-winning programme of contemporary art exhibitions at Blenheim Palace, a masterpiece of 18th century Baroque architecture and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Oxfordshire.

Offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience contemporary art in the historic setting of the Palace and its acres of parkland, the not-for-profit Foundation looks to challenge the conventional “white cube” presentation of contemporary art by bringing together one of Britain’s most famous landmarks with the work of the most innovative artists working today. Since its inauguration, the Foundation has hosted major exhibitions by Ai Weiwei (2014), Lawrence Weiner (2015), Michelangelo Pistoletto (2016), Jenny Holzer (2017), Yves Klein (2018), Maurizio Cattelan (2019) and Cecily Brown (2020).

Alongside the exhibition programme, Blenheim Art Foundation is also building a collection of post-war and contemporary art to sit alongside the Palace’s permanent collection, continuing a historic legacy of patronage and championship of art and culture at Blenheim Palace.
