From December 2020 to 22 August 2021, 16 sculptures by the artist Robert Schad will be on show in the park around Museum Schloss Moyland. Schad has been working with steel square tubing and rods since the mid-1980s. The artist divides the industrially-manufactured material into pieces, the sizes of which are oriented around the human body. He then welds the parts into sculptures that unfold in space in agile, repeatedly branching lines.
The artist himself chose the locations in the park f or his sculpture. It is rewarding to view the works from different sides in order to observe how, depending on your angle of vision, the structure of their lines seems to make up ever new forms that combine with the surrounding landscape and the architecture of the castle building in many and varied ways to create an overall image.
From 11 April to 22 August 2021, the graphic artist Robert Schad will be acknowledged in the castle of the Museum Schloss Moyland. This exhibition will also contain maquettes of his steel sculptures and drawings on tin.
