WAF Talk:
Engaging Young Audiences

A Case Study with Kunstsilo Museum & Collective Paper Aesthetics

Wednesday, September 30th, 2026

9:30 EDT | 14:30 GMT | 15:30 CET

We are pleased to invite our members to join a virtual discussion exploring how museums can meaningfully engage younger audiences through collaboration, participation, and audience-centred programming.
Drawing on the collaboration between Kunstsilo Museum (Norway) and Collective Paper Aesthetics, this session will present a practical case study on developing a young public engagement strategy. Through shared experiences and lessons learned, our guests speakers will discuss how cultural institutions can create relevant and inclusive experiences that resonate with younger generations.

This session will explore:

  • Understanding the motivations and expectations of young museum audiences.
  • Designing engagement strategies that encourage participation and co-creation.
  • Building successful collaborations between museums and creative practitioners.
  • Lessons learned from the Kunstsilo Museum × Collective Paper Aesthetics partnership.
  • Practical approaches that can be adapted by museums and cultural organizations of different sizes and contexts.

The discussion will be led by Kjersti Irgens Kuhnle, Project Manager, Children and Young People, and Torill Haugen, Head of Innovation and Development, both from Kunstsilo Museum, alongside Noa Haim, Founder of Collective Paper Aesthetics. Together, they will share how strategic collaboration and innovative programming have informed Kunstsilo’s approach to engaging young audiences, offering practical insights for museums and cultural organizations seeking to strengthen their own audience development initiatives.

Please share with us any questions you would like to be addressed on this call. We look forward to seeing you there!
